Coinbase is a cryptocurrency wallet/exchange based in San Francisco, California, that was founded in 2012. According to reports, the digital currency exchange serves about 20 million clients from 32 countries, with the US leading the charge. Within a year of launching, Coinbase became the most funded crypto startup and is currently the world's largest exchange. Block. One was a Dutch bank account, allowing users to make transactions with other Bitcoin services and to buy Bitcoins using their existing bank account. The second option was called CoinJar Touch, which could be used on Android or iOS mobiles as well as PCs and Macs through the use of an online app. This provided people the ability to purchase directly Ribbit Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Union Square Ventures each committed $25 million to the fast-growing crypto wallet and exchange. The investment was arranged by Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures. Following this investment, Ribbit Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Union Square Ventures contributed another $25 million (all venture capital firms).
